MHS/MCTEA is seeking an individual for a full-time instructor position as an Agriculture Instructor (high school level, grades 9-12). Bachelor’s degree in agricultural education is required. Experience at the K12 level and/or industry level in agricultural education preferred. South Dakota K12 teaching certificate with an agricultural education endorsement is a requirement of the position. If the instructor does not possess this certification and/or endorsement(s), the instructor is responsible for completing any additional education or requirements needed to obtain the teaching certification and/or endorsement(s). This process must be completed within the timeframe outlined by the South Dakota Department of Education of beginning position.
Instructors are responsible for developing lesson plans and teaching all courses as assigned; assessing student progress in classroom and laboratory; developing and updating curriculum; and using computers/software. Applicants should possess strong writing and technical skills; the ability to communicate effectively; master change; work in groups; and have a strong student orientation.
