    Position Type: Full-Time (11 Months)
    Location: Mitchell, South Dakota

    • Conduct assessments to identify social and emotional needs of students.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement intervention plans aimed at improving social emotional health.
    • Monitor and record student attendance, identifying patterns of chronic absenteeism or truancy.
    • Investigate and address barriers to regular attendance in collaboration with students, parents, and school staff.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve overall attendance rates.
    • Assist with connecting students and families with community resources and services.
    • Advocate for students' rights and well-being within the school community.
    • Conduct outreach to families to provide support and resources for improving attendance.
    • Collaborate with community agencies or organizations to enhance attendance efforts.
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree (Social Work or a related field is preferred).
    • Experience working in an educational setting or with school-aged children and families.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of community resources and services.
