Performance Pet is seeking to add a machine operator to our 1st shift team at our 168,000 square foot cannery in Mitchell, SD! Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work safely and comply with company and regulatory safety/environmental policies, practices and procedures
Operate all facility equipment based on machine-specific SOPs
Perform quality control tests on finished product and make adjustments to equipment to meet product standards
Monitor equipment and document manufacturing process; adjust the flow of production to maintain production standards
Perform basic operator troubleshooting and communicate any accidents, threats, or downtime to shift supervisor
Maintain clean work environment to ensure safety and product quality
Complete any necessary documents or paperwork timely
Assist other production and maintenance personnel as needed
Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), preferred
Previous manufacturing/machine operation experience a plus
Forklift certified or ability to become forklift trained, preferred
Knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools
High level of attention to detail and surroundings
Proficient in handling and completing paperwork
Ability to understand and operate basic computer systems
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb, frequently
Ability to handle hot and cold conditions (must dress according to weather) and be aware of any wet floors or other hazards
Ability to work day/evening/night shifts and/or extra hours, as needed
