    We are currently taking applications for a Sanitation Worker and a Sanitation Lead on our 2nd (evening) shift at our NEW, STATE-OF-THE-ART 168,000 sq. ft cannery, Performance Pet Products, in Mitchell, SD!     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Work safely, comply and enforce all company and regulatory safety/environmental policies, practices and procedures

    Support and lead management’s daily objectives and assignments; monitor work activities for assigned department

    Assist QA Manager on scheduling staff based on production and staffing needs

    Monitor Sanitation team attendance and report any issues to QA Manager

    Promote and lead continuous improvement in safety, quality, time performance and key performance indicators (KPI’s)

    Plan and verify materials needed for auditing sanitation log and daily, weekly, and monthly schedules

    Provide training to new/existing employees and ensure all facility equipment is sanitized, verifying company quality standards

    Perform general cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned to ensure all areas are safe, clean, and organized throughout shift

    Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and being used according to SOPs; collect and review documentation at shift end

    Work with standard cleaning and sanitation chemicals and ensure proper storage of cleaning chemicals

    Work directly with QA Manager and report any issues that arise

    Train and assist in other departments or throughout facility to provide additional coverage or leadership, as needed 

    Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal work load.

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

    AS degree or applicable certifications, preferred

    1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing/machine operation; preferably food manufacturing

    Advanced written and verbal communication, with ability to maintain accurate records

    High level of professionalism, confidentiality, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail

    Strong sense of initiative and problem-solving with the ability to manage time and deadlines with little supervision

    Ability to understand and operate basic computer systems; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis

    Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb, frequently

    Ability to tolerate varying environmental conditions; wet, slippery conditions; and confined spaces
