General Responsibilities: Provide supervision, training, teambuilding, and guidance to Direct Support Professionals. Assist people with developmental disabilities with identifying and achieving their personal goals. Assist people with disabilities and Direct Support Professionals to research and experience meaningful activities, in-house and in the community. Support people with disabilities to make and secure connections with people and organizations in an effort to build natural supports and friendships. Teach people and assist with social skills, interpersonal relationships, and activities of daily living skills such as handling finances, making meals, personal hygiene etc., as necessary. Ensure necessary documentation is completed in a thorough and detailed manner.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, special education, social services, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the area of developmental disabilities. Maintain a valid South Dakota driver’s license. Belief in the dignity and advancement of individuals with developmental disabilities is important. Must have the presence, stature and personality to effectively represent LifeQuest to the public and other professionals.
Typical hours for this position are Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
