Director of 401 Create
This position will help LifeQuest build on its mission to create a space where all people can share, learn, and express themselves through creativity in meaningful and memorable ways.
Essential Duties:
Create an atmosphere of unity, respect and inclusion for all people who spend time at the location. Create and maintain a positive, active presence in the Mitchell and surrounding communities to promote community presence and inclusion. Create a space where people can engage and share with one another by matching the talents, desires and interests of people using services, with members of the Mitchell and surrounding communities. Be familiar with community events and activities and assist people to participate in meaningful ways by partnering with businesses, organizations, and community members. Coordinate and help to schedule various activities at the location for people to engage in. Promote 401 Create through speaking to community members, businesses, organization, clubs, groups. Provide supervision, training, and guidance to Direct Support Professionals.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in public relations, communication, or the human services field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the area of developmental disabilities. Minimum of one year of professional or management experience. Belief in the dignity and advancement of people with developmental disabilities is important. Must have the presence, stature, and personality to effectively represent 401 Create to the community and its members.
Salary: dependent on education and experience
Hours: Hours for this position vary, but are typically between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional later evenings or weekends as needed.
