    Corn Palace Gift Shop
    Job Description
    DEPARTMENT:  Tourism Enterprise Division of Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce 
      Director of Tourism and Marketing  


    • Assists in managing the retail and wholesale business of the Corn Palace Gift Shop. Including: Drawer counting, retail merchandising, online sales and inventory control for summer and year-round gift/souvenir shops. 
    • Maintains gift shop website with new and outdated products  
    • Assists in website order fulfillment  
    • Assists in the marketing efforts for the gift shop through social media platforms
    • Coordinates retail promotions and events 
    • Develops gift shop and visitor center team work schedules
    • Assists in daily gift shop operations 
    • Assists in merchandising and buying efforts 


    • Excellent customer service skills
    • 2-5 Years of retail or hospitality industry experience 
    • Sets and accomplishes goals 
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks
    • Willing to work weekends and evenings during peak season
    • Willingness to learn new software programs 
    • Marketing experience in photography, website management and social media preferred


    • Salary Range: $30,000-$35,000 DOE
