Mitchell, SD- 2021 Cory Marek returns to South Dakota taking a position with Dakotaland Federal Credit Union’s Mortgage Lending Team. As the mortgage department expands to accommodate the increase in the need for financing of local real estate, a mortgage lending position was recently established in the Mitchell Branch location. “Securing the depth of lending experience Cory brings to the credit union is noteworthy. His mortgage knowledge gives our members in this service area a great resource for an experienced local lender who has strong credit union roots,” commented Sarah Senska, VP of Mortgage Lending.
Mr. Marek is a Mitchell High School graduate and earned a Math degree with a minor in Business as an honors student from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell. The past several years as a Mortgage Loan Officer has proven to be Cory’s passion saying, “I love every part of real estate and it’s a great way to help people with a big purchase”. Marek is no rookie to the credit union world, he became a credit union member as a youngster and his father served on the Mitchell Area Federal Credit Union Board of Directors. “I am very excited about being a part of Dakotaland. I appreciate the atmosphere of this organization. They see you as more than just a number and they make a point to be involved in the communities they serve. I also love knowing it’s all about the members and how we can help them, not just numbers and scores.” explained Marek.
Cory gets excited about playing hockey and truly values where he lives for the opportunities to golf, hunt, and fish. In his down time, he admits he can be a homebody and can easily get lost in a good movie.
Family is important to Marek and he is proud to say he has 6 in his household. He and his wife Destiny have 2 beautiful daughters, Quinn and Lydia, along with their 2 furry four-legged kids, Oakley and Stella.
