Nominations Being Accepted for Mitchell Excellence in Family Business Award

Prairie Family Business Association, in partnership with the Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce, is asking for nominations for the Mitchell Excellence in Family Business Award to be awarded at the Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting

    Sioux Falls, SD – November 6, 2018

The Mitchell Excellence in Family Business Award will be given to a local Mitchell Family who is running a successful family business involving multiple generations of the family as well as a commitment to the community. The award will be presented at the Mitchell Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on January 11th. Nominations or applications are due by December 14th to Prairie Family Business Association.

We welcome nominations from any community member as well as self-nominations. We are looking for family businesses with strong records of success, family involvement, community service and philanthropy, multi-generational culture, and positive family business structure. For our purposes, a business is considered a family business if at least two generations are currently working in the business, or the business has already transitioned from one generation to another within the family. To complete a nomination, visit http://fambus.org/membership/awards/ to download a nomination form or an application, or email Rebecca.zabel@usd.edu and request a form.

Prairie Family Business Association works with local communities throughout South Dakota and North Dakota to recognize successful local family businesses. Recipients of each local award are then eligible to receive the regional Vicki Clarke Excellence in Family Business Award, presented at the Prairie Family Business Association annual conference in Sioux Falls.
