    Date: June 26, 2019
    Time: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM CDT
    Event Description:
Join us at the Mitchell Public Library on Wednesday, June 26, at 10:30am & 2:00pm to meet Deb Watley, author of the children's book "Summer Ruins: The Field Notes of Gwen Bell." Watley will present archaeology basics & share her inspirations for her main character, Gwen, an 11-year-old who searches for artifacts at her parents' South Dakota dig. "Summer Ruins" takes place near a fictional town in South Dakota, loosely based on the towns of Florence, South Shore, and Castlewood. This is a great opportunity for all ages to learn about SD archaeology and the behind-the-scenes work of an author. Everyone welcome.
