The City of Mitchell is accepting applications for a Truck Driver / Equipment Operator for the Public Works Department. This position operates trucks and other equipment in the construction, repair, and maintenance of the public works infrastructure in assisting the airport, traffic, and street divisions.. Operates a truck and trailer to haul materials and equipment, performs duties with crack sealing, chip sealing, asphalt patching, etc.., installs barriers and cone for traffic detours, maintains vehicles and equipment, locates underground utilities. This position also trims trees, responds to traffic signals and installs/maintains traffic signs and posts. This position also, performs city-wide snow removal in the winter. Starting wage is $23.846 per hour. Excellent benefit package includes employee health and dental insurance at no cost to the employee, with reasonable premiums available for family. High School Diploma or equivalent. Training or experience in a similar position for at least one year. Possession of a valid CDL or ability to obtain one.
Work is performed indoors and outdoors, in summer heat and winter cold. This position includes work in environments including dust, dirt, grease, and exposure to outdoor plants and grasses.
