The boards of the Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce and Development Corporation have approved a repair and renovation project for the organizations’ office space at 601 N. Main St.

On Dec. 2, the staff of the Chamber, MADC, CVB and Mitchell Main Street & Beyond will temporarily relocate to the south side of the Avera building on the Hwy. 37 bypass at 1308 W. 15th Ave., during construction.

“We have been dealing with space, health and safety issues at our office,” said Mark Vaux, CEO. “As the leading business organizations in Mitchell, we want to lead by example on Main Street with this improvement project.  We are creating a better, more professional atmosphere for our staff and our business community.”

The Corn Palace Gift Shop at 603 N. Main will remain open throughout the process. Those wishing to purchase Mitchell Money will be able to purchase at the gift shop Mondays through Fridays.
The project is expected to be completed well before the summer travel season begins.
