    Assistant Manager

    Position Summary
    The Assistant Manager supports front-of-house and back-of-house operations during the launch phase. This role assists with customer service, cashiering, donation processing, merchandising, opening/closing coverage, and volunteer support while maintaining a safe, professional, and welcoming environment.

    Pay & Schedule $20/hour
    Part-time Store Hours (Launch Phase): Thursday–Saturday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM Sunday: 12:00 PM–4:00 PM Plus approximately 1 hour per day for opening/closing duties

    Key Responsibilities
    Provide friendly, professional customer service and assist with sales
    Operate Square POS, process transactions, and assist with end-of-day procedures
    Sort, clean, tag, and stock donated items following pricing guidelines
    Maintain organized aisles, displays, and overall store presentation
    Assist volunteers with assigned tasks and safe workflow practices
    Support opening and closing duties as assigned

    Safety & Compliance (HFHI-Aligned)
    Follow PPE and footwear requirements for all floor and receiving work
    Use safe lifting practices and request assistance for heavy or bulky items
    Keep aisles and exits clear and report trip hazards immediately
    Report incidents and near-misses promptly to the
    Manager Assist with donation screening and removal of unsafe items from customer access

    Dress Code
    Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes required
    Sturdy athletic shoes or work shoes
    Non-slip soles strongly recommended
    Appropriate work shirts
    Plain, clean shirts without offensive language or graphics
    Long pants or durable jeans
    No rips, tears, or excessively baggy clothing

    Physical Requirements
    Qualifications 1+ year of customer service or retail experience (or comparable work)
    Weekend availability required (Friday–Sunday priority coverage)
    Reliable, punctual, and able to follow procedures consistently
    Ability to safely lift and move items in an active retail environment
    Positive teamwork attitude and strong communication skills
