    Store Manager

    Position Summary
    The Store Manager leads day-to-day operations during its launch and early growth phase. This role oversees donation intake, pricing, merchandising, customer experience, Square POS operations, cash controls, safety compliance, and volunteer coordination in a mission-aligned, startup environment.

    Pay & Schedule
    $22/hour |
    Part-time Store Hours (Launch Phase): Thursday–Saturday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM Sunday: 12:00 PM–4:00 PM Plus approximately 1 hour per day for opening/closing duties

    Key Responsibilities
    Manage daily store operations including opening/closing and workflow priorities
    Oversee donation intake, sorting, testing, pricing, stocking, and inventory turnover
    Maintain strong merchandising standards and organized sales floor presentation
    Deliver excellent customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns
    Supervise volunteers and workforce participants; assign daily tasks and priorities
    Operate Square POS, complete daily closeout reporting, and follow cash-handling procedures
    Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming retail and processing environment

    Safety & Compliance (HFHI-Aligned)
    Ensure first-aid supplies are accessible and incident reports are completed as needed
    Train staff and volunteers on PPE requirements (closed-toe shoes, gloves, eye/ear protection when required)
    Enforce ladder safety and restrict customer access to employee equipment
    Promote safe lifting practices, including team lifts and use of dollies/hand trucks
    Maintain clear aisles and exits through daily safety walk-throughs
    Screen donations and remove unsafe or prohibited items from the sales floor

    Dress Code
    Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes required
    Sturdy athletic shoes or work shoes
    Non-slip soles strongly recommended
    Appropriate work shirts
    Plain, clean shirts without offensive language or graphics Long pants or durable jeans
    No rips, tears, or excessively baggy clothing

    Physical Requirements
    Ability to safely lift and move items up to 50 pounds with team assistance or equipment as needed Qualifications 2+ years of retail operations or customer-facing management experience
    Weekend availability required (Friday–Sunday priority coverage)
    Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
    Comfortable using POS systems and basic technology (Square experience preferred)
